Raised $3,000 for Child Hope International and With Open Eyes

Nationally known acclaimed artist Anne H. Neilson paints with passion and a purpose. Her passion ... her purpose - to give back to others less fortunate in her community. After several successful "Angels in Our Midst" shows benefiting local organizations, Anne started Strokes of Compassion in the Fall of 2011. Anne's desire is to host art shows through Strokes of Compassion twice a year and giving back 50% of the proceeds to local charities.
From hospice to the homeless, domestic violence shelters to disadvantaged children, Anne uses her creative gift to reach across the community and impact thousands of people in the Charlotte region. Thanks to Anne’s efforts, more children with disabilities (Allegro Foundation) are receiving specialized services, The "Levine Cardiac Kids,” children with heart defects, used Anne’s donation to attend a special camp, and men and women of Urban Ministry Center, a local Charlotte soup kitchen, have received hundreds of meals.
All have been helped because Anne took her talent to paint angels and turned it into a way to help others.
Going forward, Anne will capture her compassion for others through every paint stroke and will give 50% of every painting purchased through Strokes of Compassion back to the community on an ongoing basis.

In support of Anne's continued mission to give back through her art, a portion of proceeds from regular art sales and annual Strokes of Compassion art show is donated to charitable organizations.
“Anne Neilson's painting hangs prominently in my collection with the best artists of this generation. I am drawn to her sense of color and the skill with which she applies paint on the canvas. They are hauntingly beautiful and when I stand before them, I know I am in presence of angels.”

Anne Herring Neilson is an oil painter from Charlotte, NC. Her popular Angel Series has earned attention from collectors nationwide. Anne's repertoire also includes nautical scenes gleaned from a sailing trip around Martha's Vineyard to French country scenes captured on canvas in Provence, France. Whether it is a quaint white steepled church, a country farmhouse and a barn, or a bowl of deliciously appetizing fruit, she employs an artistic flair for color and light that she considers a gift from God.
